The 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is planned to be the seventh ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament, the matches will take place in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

There was scheduled to be a preceding 2020 T20 World Cup held in Australia from 18 October to 15 November 2020, but in July 2020, the ICC (International Cricket Council) announced that the match had been postponed, due to COVID-19.
In August 2020, the ICC announced that India would host the 2021 tournament as intended, with Australia being appointed as the host for the succeeding 2022 tournament.
But, in June 2021, the ICC declared that the tournament had been shifted to the United Arab Emirates due to rising problems over the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in India, and the possibility of a third wave of Covid – 19 in India.

The tournament is planned to start on 17 October 2021, and the tournament’s final schedule will be played on 14 November 2021.The initial rounds of the tournament are set to be shared between Oman and the UAE.

Within all 42 matches, the T20 World Cup will be divided into two rounds. Round 1 will contain twelve matches between eight teams, which are Netherlands, Oman, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Scotland, Ireland, Namibia, and Papua New Guinea, from which four teams will continue to the Super 12s. The Super 12s is scheduled to begin from 24 October 2021, it will comprise of 30 matches between the four teams from Round 1 and the leading eight ranked T20 teams. Those teams will be divided into two groups of six each. There will be three knockout games, two semi-finals, and the final.
