1. Be present in the moment
Do not waste your time dwelling on the things of the past which can’t be changed. It would only add up to your stress and anxiety. Instead you can just stay in the present moment and be mindful of where you are, what you are doing and all the things that are happening around you.
2. Remove distractions
Eliminate the things that prevent you from enjoying the present moment. It is highly possible to be distracted by your electronic devices while your thoughts are running through your mind.
Avoid your cell phone from disturbing your time with your friends or even with yourself.
3. Let go off the past
It is easy to hold on to your memories and so it is better to just let go of your past. It is pointless to dwell on the things that are not relevant or the things that you can’t do anything about as it might result in stress and anxiety.
4. Prevent your thoughts from wandering into the future
Motivated by your ambitions for the future is good but dwelling on the future while you lose the track of the present is not. You’d miss out on fun times and you’d be filled with dread as you anticipate the things that are out of your control.
