In pursuit of success, everyone has to do hard work, sacrifice, and make tough decisions often. But, to achieve their goal, they must constantly keep pushing themselves forward and stand up whenever they fall. And sometimes, the result you expected is different, which might make you think that if things had been done in a certain way, it would have worked differently.

Regret is inevitable as it depends on how you walk and your decisions to achieve your goals. For example, if you had to choose between attending a family get-together which is held once a year or a trip with friends which happened for the first time. If you go on a family get-together you will certainly regret that as you missed the first and last chance to go out with friends, also family get-together happens every year.

Or things you sacrificed to get a top position in your company. You gave all your time and sleepless nights just to get that position, and now that you have that position, you don’t have time for yourself. But you never complain about that.

Regret often arises when your decision didn’t have any productive result, but if you had done things differently, the results might have at least given you satisfaction. However, hard work always pays off even if you didn’t succeed in what you wanted to, but it certainly teaches you lessons to be prepared for the future.

The Vice President of Oakland Athletics once said, “Hard work may not always result in success, but it will never result in regret.”

In conclusion, where there’s success, there isn’t regret. It depends on how you take it because every misfortune comes with a lesson that prepares you for the future and success teaches you the value of things.
