Finding out the gender of the baby can be a thrilling experience during pregnancy. If you are eager to determine the gender of a child ultrasound test is the most accurate and reliable process, however, your appetite can also reveal the gender of your child.

According to the researchers, the women pregnant with boys eat 10% more than the women pregnant with girls. The research further states that women pregnant with boys ate 8% more protein, 9% more carbohydrates, 11% more animal fats, and 15% more vegetable oil.

However, even after intaking more food, they didn’t gain more weight as compared to women pregnant with girls. They presume that the testosterone secreted by fetal testicles is responsible for extra food cravings of women pregnant with boys.

However, some myths claim that women expecting girls crave sweet foods like ice cream and chocolate while the ones carrying boys desire salty and savory foods like potato chips. It is also believed that females carrying a girl experiences more morning sickness because they have high hormone levels. Whereas women expecting boys feel less nauseous as they have lower hormone levels.

There hasn’t been much research on it and the studies that took place have shown conflicting results. Around 7 to 8 weeks, the baby’s genitalia starts forming. By 18 to 20 weeks, a baby’s gender can be determined by an ultrasound scan. In some cases, when a baby’s position obscures the genitalia, it is difficult to determine the baby’s gender.
