We have often come across the terms Sociopaths & Psychopaths. But what is the meaning of these terms? Are they the same? Both Sociopaths and Psychopaths are people whose behavior is often characterized as anti-social. They have zero to little consideration for what is right and what is wrong. While many confuse the two as the same, there are differences in their personality traits. Here are a few differences between the two

1) Conscience

One of the striking differences between the two is conscience. The experts believe that psychopaths have absolutely no conscience. They have simply no care for what is wrong or right. For example, they might commit a dangerous crime and still won’t feel guilty. On the other hand, sociopaths are believed to have a weak conscience. They have the idea of what is wrong and right but it still doesn’t refrain them from doing something wrong.

2) Relationships with others

Often psychopaths have the ability to pretend to like or care for someone. They are good at manipulating people by acting as they care. On the other hand, sociopaths cannot act well. They make it clear that they are not interested or don’t like someone.

3) Behaviour

According to very well mind reports, sociopaths are referred to as ‘hot-headed’ meaning that they lose their cool too soon. Their behavior is very prone to rage and they don’t think twice before acting. While psychopaths are referred to as ‘cold-hearted’. They plot their actions and carefully play out to get what they want. They have no feelings for others at all.

4) Emotional Attachments

According to very well mind reports, sociopaths cannot effectively create nor maintain connections with people. But psychopaths pretend they can but in reality, they fail to have any genuine relationships or emotional attachments with anyone.
