Feeling a little flat? A frequent skin problem is dull skin, and there are several factors that might be to blame for your skin’s lack of brightness. Some of the common causes, according to dermatologist Dr. Kiran Sethi, founder of Isya Aesthetics, are dryness or dehydration; excessive sun exposure; poor circulation; anemia or vitamin deficiencies; an unhealthy lifestyle that excludes exercise and enough sleep; smoking; and exposure to excessive pollution. So how can you stop it? If your boredom is brought on by lifestyle circumstances, you may need to address the underlying causes and implement some adjustments.

1. Hydroxy acid polymer
If you haven’t been exfoliating, your skin may undoubtedly appear a little dull. Dr. Sethi claims that using such polyhydroxy acids will brighten and moisturize the skin.

2. Acid glycolic
Go for glycolic acid, the most effective AHA, if you want something stronger (and your skin can handle it). This acid is highly strong and water-soluble. It aids in shedding the outermost layer of skin’s dead skin cells to reveal a more radiant, youthful complexion.

3. Citrus C
Most physicians and cosmetic journalists agree that this is the best component for whitening the complexion. It’s an antioxidant that fights dullness and, more significantly in this situation, uneven skin tone.

4. Fluoride acid
Ferulic acid is another remedy suggested by Dr. Sethi for dullness. It is an antioxidant derived from plants, and like vitamin C, it aids in protecting the skin from external aggressors.

5. Acid hyaluronic
When your skin is dry, it can become dehydrated, which makes your skin suddenly seem lifeless and drab. Whatever your skin type, this is possible. You could see deeper dark circles and more fine wrinkles.
