Singapore has been a fast runner in the digitalization journey. In order to support foreign and local businesses, various digitization initiatives were taken since 2019 by the agencies such as Enterprise Singapore, Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), and SG Digital Office.

During the pandemic, the rules of doing business changed and businesses were forced to realize that there was a need to improve their technological awareness. Due to a proactive push towards innovation and digital transformation, the business operating in Singapore has benefited a lot.

Through Start Digital Pack, which was launched by the Infocomm Media Development Authority in 2019 pushed several businesses in Singapore to digitalization. The Start Digital Pack contains various digital solutions such as software, accounting payroll, and more.
Recently this pack has been updated to support remote working, digital utilities, and digital marketing.

When work from home was made mandatory, SMBs were concerned and so the government provided remote working support to the companies through Productivity Solutions Grants. It covers solutions for retail, food, logistic, precision engineering, construction, and landscaping industries. It includes solutions such as customer management, data analytic, inventory tracking, and more.

Even the hawkers in Singapore went digital to move their business forward post-Covid. The Singapore Together Alliance for Action – Online was launched by the SG Digital Office and National Environmental Agency for ordering the hawkers.

The seniors too went digital after the government pushed for Mobile Access for Seniors. Singapore proved that no one can be left behind by digitalization.
