One of the most typical kinds of acne are blackheads. Blackheads may affect everyone, however those with oily skin are more prone to them.

They develop as a result of your sebaceous glands’ extra oil (sebum) and dead skin cells clogging your pores.

Blackheads have open surfaces, which results in an oxidation that is dark in color, as opposed to whiteheads, which produce pores that are closed.

It could be tempting to try to pinch or force the black plug out, but doing so might harm your skin by leaving scars that aren’t required.

1. Cleanse with salicylic acid

Look for over-the-counter (OTC) items that include salicylic acid rather than benzoyl peroxide.

The ideal component for treating blackheads and whiteheads is salicylic acid since it dissolves the substances that block pores.

2. Gently exfoliate with AHAs and BHAs

You may have read or heard in the past that exfoliating has a detrimental impact on acne. This is particularly true for inflammatory acne, since the procedure may result in increased redness and sensitivity.

But for blackheads, regular exfoliation can help get rid of a lot of extra dead skin cells that can cause clogged pores. Existing blackheads may be carefully removed throughout the procedure.

3. Pick up a skin brush

By eliminating surplus dead skin cells, a skin brush can have similar exfoliating effects to AHAs and BHAs.
