Our conception of relationships is highly influenced by the literature we read, the people we engage with, and the films we watch. While some of us grew up watching tragic love stories, others think that, despite all obstacles and preconceptions, falling in love is the most wonderful experience in the world and lasts a lifetime. As we mature, so do our ideas about relationships, love, and the concept of accepting another person for who they truly are. We learn to navigate life and all that it has to offer, and somewhere along the way, we also learn to make the appropriate adjustments to our adult relationships for our comfort.

The four relationship fundamentals that we are all taught and that are crucial to forget. Here are some of them:

1.Be honest and open with your spouse: Being open and honest with your partner is essential in every relationship. However, it might not be a good idea to be unfiltered.

2.Conflict-free: Conflicts are a normal symptom. It’s natural for two people in a relationship to disagree occasionally and have conflict. Volatility is not a healthy indicator, and the partners should have the ability to respect one another’s viewpoints.

3.Love is always passionate: Infatuation characterizes a relationship’s early stages. When attraction fades, passion also tends to diminish. That does not imply that the love has diminished, though. After a while, love resembles a state of peace.

4.Not owning up to faults or offering an apology builds love, trust, and strength in a partnership. Giving up the control of the relationship by apologizing is not the case.
