The Indian Army stepped into operation when India achieved its independence from the British rule. The army is divided into six operational commands also known as the field armies and one training command each of whom are under the control of the Lieutenant General.

Indian Army has its own set of proud moments. The ones where they showed their determination, strong will power and hard work are as mentioned below;

1. Indian Army’s Myanmar Operation – July 2015

With the help of Indian Air Force, Indian Army carried out a wonderful cross-border operation in Myanmar to avenge the insurgents by military convoy in Manipur Chandel where 18 militants were killed.

Several troops carried out early morning attacks on the Indo-Myanmar border which neutralized their militants.

2. The Biggest Airborne Exercise

The biggest Airborne Exercise carried out by Indian Army with around 500 troops was named as the WINGED RAIDER. Most participants were paratroopers from C-130 Hercules and C-17 globemaster aircraft of Indian Air Force and it was conducted in the Northern Theatre.

3. Operation 500 – November 2020

Many Indian soldiers were injured and killed in the incident at Nagarkot. It was informed by the intelligence that around 500 terrorists were trained across the borders of Jammu and Kashmir and the operation that was carried out to defeat the terrorists was named as Operation 500.

India is in a continuous process of training its militants to achieve strategic mobility and high-volume firepower so that they can rapidly attack into the enemy territory.
