The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi was born in September 1950 into a middle-class family of Vadnagar, Gujarat. His family owned a small grocery business and found it difficult to make ends meet.

His father owned a tea stall near the local railway station in Vadnagar and he assisted his father while simultaneously handling his studies and school.

At the age of eight, he joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and left his home at the age of 17 and visited various ashrams founded by Swami Vivekananda.

In 1971, he officially became a part of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 21. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Delhi University and later, pursued a Master’s Degree from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In 1987, Narendra Modi joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and became the General Secretary of the Gujarat Branch. In 1995, he was appointed as the General Secretary of the BJP’s national unit.

When Keshubhai Patel resigned from his post as a Chief Minister of Gujarat due to health issues, Narendra Modi stepped up and took oath on 7th October 2001 and maintained the post for the three successive terms.

The Rajkot II constituency election of 2002 was won by him along with the assembly election from Maninagar which he won twice. This great orator was elected as the Prime Minister of India on 24th May 2014 and yet again won the position in 2019.
