Dr. Karsanbhai Patel is the inventor of the Nirma group which produced, detergents, soaps, cosmetics, and salt.
Karsanbhai Patel was born in 1945, in north Gujarat in a farmer’s family. He graduated in Chemistry when he 21. Originally, he served as a lab technician. In 1969, Karsanbhai started producing phosphate-free detergent powder, which was named Nirma, which was given after his daughter’s name.
He started producing detergent in his backyard. He used to work after office hours for producing Nirma and sold the detergent on his bicycle on his way to the workplace, which was 17km away from his house.
The detergent packages were sold at Rs. 3 per kg. Karsanbhai Patel began door-to-door selling of Nirma. After all this hard work and dedication, Nirma is now being identified as the 9th position among leading brands in India, it is even Selected as the famous brand of the country for 2003-04, it is even known as the most prominent brand in the Detergent Powders.
In 1995, Karsanbhai Patel gave a new essence to Nirma when he established the Nirma Institute of Technology in Ahmedabad.
Karsanbhai Patel, who began his surf company from his house, is now 775th on the list of Billionaires of the world and 39th in the record of wealthiest people in India.
Everything was possible only because of his hard work and determination.
