Treatment

It is possible to resolve some vertigo without any treatment but if there is an underlying problem, then treatment is a must.

Doctors usually prescribe antibiotics for a bacterial infection. In case of shingles, antiviral drugs are prescribed.

Medications such as antihistamines and anti-emetics can reduce the symptoms such as motion sickness and nausea.

If the treatments are not effective, then surgery is recommended and it is appropriate for Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and acoustic neuroma.
