Often when we achieve success in our life people tend to praise us, but when failing to achieve success the same people will look down upon us, they taunt us for not being successful.

Many times when an individual tries to do something, which does not suit the societal norms and values, people always throw negative comments on them or taunt them. But we need to ignore such taunts and be happy and do whatever we love.

Here are the ways how you can avoid taunts and be happy

1. Try a humorous reply

Humor can diffuse an embarrassing circumstance, disarm the aggressor, and even undermine their mockery and taunt. Attempt making a joke when someone taunts you in an attempt to be mischievous or humorous themselves, not intentionally painful.

People sometimes say, don’t believe you have to contribute to your teasing, if trying humor doesn’t stand right to you, don’t do it.

2. Take a deep, calming breath

Make certain you can react to a bully and taunts calmly and clearly. Rather than letting your sudden emotional reaction influence your response, pause for a minute and breathe deeply to calm yourself.

Keep yourself cool and stay leveled so you can say precisely what you want to say in just the way you want to assert it.

3. Don’t taunt them back

Responding aggressively, such as by taunting them back, adds fuel to the fire of taunt. Don’t provide them the enjoyment of “pushing your buttons” and getting an emotional reaction.

Rather than getting mad or falling into a tit-for-tat taunt war, take optimistic action to avoid the bullying and taunts from occurring frequently.

4. Walk away or just resist them

Resisting a taunt can enable minimizing the disrespect and taunting of your experience. While this is not often possible, come up with means to lessen the quantity of time you spend around the tease or even avoid connection altogether.

However, don’t think like you have to surrender your interests, motives, or satisfaction to prevent a bully. If that’s the possibility, react more directly to them.

5. Never criticize yourself

People who taunt and disrespect others are insecure. Their taunting is often driven by suspicion, selfishness, and the need to control a crisis. Picking on others makes them feel powerful.

It’s not your mistake in any way that you’ve become their target. What they say might however hurt you, but recollect yourself that you do not deserve this at all. And don’t criticize yourself for it.
