Midway is a 2019 action war movie. The plot of the movie portrays the US Navy’s resolute action, carried out on the orders of iron-willed admirals, aids in the defeat of the Japanese force in Midway Atoll. There are a lot of moments in the film that seem difficult to believe are true. Here is a list of things that are absolutely true.

We witness Jimmy Doolittle (Aaron Eckhart) and his troops preparing to launch a significant reprisal on Tokyo, knowing they’ll be taking off from a carrier and flying into enemy territory with no promises they’ll have enough fuel to get them back to safety. Without reliable weapons and equipment, even the most valiant military will fail, which makes Midway’s claim that those fighting on the Pacific front were fighting and using torpedoes that didn’t work all the way to the end. The film includes repeated references to torpedoes that have not been tested or proven to be dependable, even depicting one striking a direct hit only to disintegrate and sink. Just as unlikely as it sounds, this is in fact true according to Grunge reports.
