Are You A Trekking Pro? How About Testing Your Skills At Some Of The Difficult Trek Destinations In Maharashtra

Maharashtra, with its various hill stations, provides ideal trekking opportunities. Some trekking trails pass through beautiful scenery, while others pass past historical sites. Trekking can be done for a variety of purposes, including getting an adrenaline rush, becoming one with nature, losing weight, or pure contemplation.

1. Torna Trek -Pune – 1403 m

Torna is a big fort in the Pune district that Shivaji Maharaj conquered for the first time. Torna Fort, at 4,603 feet, is the highest hill-fort in Pune’s district and a famous monsoon trekking destination.

2. Rajgad Fort-1400 m

Rajgad is a 4250-foot-tall mountain fort and one of the top trekking places for Pune trekkers, especially after the monsoon. Trekkers and daring visitors flock to the fort site, which offers breathtaking views of the Sahyadri Mountains.

3. Salher, Nasik – 1648 m

Salher, Maharashtra’s highest fort, is located in the Nasik district. The fort is the highest hill-fort in the Sahyadris range, as well as the second-highest peak. From the Salherwadi or Waghembe base hamlet, the Salher walk takes about 3 hours to reach the top.

4. Alang Fort, Nashik – 1371 m

The Kalsubai range includes Alang Fort, which is one of Maharashtra’s most demanding treks. AMK, or Alang, Madangad, and Kulang are the most difficult treks in the Nasik district.

5. Harihar Fort, Igatpuri – 1120 m

The fort of Harihar, located in the Tryambak range north of Igatpuri, is a fascinating walk erected on a triangular rock. Harihar fort is tough to climb due to the slick slopes, yet it provides excellent views of the surrounding area.

6. Harishchandragad, Ahmednagar – 1422 m

Harishchandragad is one of the most picturesque and frequented hill forts in the Western Ghats, and is located in the Ahmednagar region. The fort is extremely old and provides a breathtaking perspective of the surrounding area. From Khireshwar village, Malachi Vaat, and Kothale village, there are three popular routes to the fort.
