The majority of us have experienced emotional blackmail at some point in our dating lives.

Depending on how evident the manipulation was, we sometimes noticed it more and other times we didn’t. Being the target of blackmail is an unpleasant experience, that much is certain.

Let’s examine a few of the most typical indications and instances of emotional blackmail in partnerships

1. Being accused of everything negative that happens

Do they point the finger at you and refuse to take responsibility for their actions?

Everything that occurs in the relationship or in their life when you are in a relationship with a person who is emotionally blackmailing you is your duty.

2. Keeping you out of their good grace

You feel like you need to continually apologize and win back their affection since everyone is blaming you for everything.

They masterfully manipulate the circumstances so that you feel like you should apologize even though you don’t feel like it.

3. Lack of compromise or true apology on their end

They don’t actually regret their acts or want to improve; they just apologize on your behalf all the time. Because they won’t support it with deeds, you can see that what they are saying is only an empty justification.

4. Making you seem irrational for questioning them

Have you ever attempted to expose some of their mistakes? Have they reversed the roles in order to make it look as though it was your fault and to make you seem unreasonable as well?

They constantly find an excuse for their excessive demands, and if you dared to object, you came across as the insane one.
