A Transcript differs from a Diploma or a Degree, even though all of the documents — Transcript, Degree, Diploma, Certificate, and Mark Sheet — are proof of finishing an academic qualification.
Depending on the nature of the programme studied, the final certificate you obtain after completing your educational qualification is termed a Degree, a Diploma, or a Certificate.
A Transcript or ToR is a mark sheet that covers all of a student’s academic records. It refers to a sheet that provides a list of all the courses/subjects studied, the grades received for each column, the student’s awards and accomplishments, as well as the degrees awarded to the student for the complete academic programme. The amount of information that can be included in a transcript is limitless.
A transcript must include a detailed list or table of all yearly modules/subjects and practical work that we have studied and completed during our studies. It contains our marks or grades, or in some circumstances, the subject-by-subject credit value, depending on the grading system used by the university.
Applicants must submit a set of documents to the admissions committee to support their past academic qualifications to attend a college or university overseas. Academic Transcripts or Transcripts of Records are the terms used to describe these documents. These documents are required to justify your suitability for the programme that you wish to pursue as proof of completion of your school, undergraduate, or post-graduation.
Students must submit transcripts while applying to an international university to attend the course of their choosing. Students should maintain soft copies of their documents available in case they need to complete an application right away. Some international colleges ask students to transmit hard copies of their transcripts via courier services such as DHL.
