Bus Conductor To The Thalaiva: Rajnikanth Is An Inspiration To Millions

Rajinikanth, popularly known as the Thalaiva, is an iconic South Indian superstar and one of the industry’s highest-paid superstars. His incredible career from bus driver to the king of the South Indian film business has inspired many! Because of his unwavering perseverance and determination, he was able to achieve his goal despite insurmountable obstacles.

Rajinikanth was born on December 12, 1950, as Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, the youngest of four siblings in a Marathi household. His father was a Police Head Constable, and his mother, Jijabai, died when he was very young, causing his family to face a severe financial crisis.

Due to the crisis, he was compelled to work in unconventional jobs in Mysore Machinery, such as office boy, coolie, carpenter, and rice bag packer. But this was only the beginning of Rajinikanth’s inspiring journey, as he went on to become a role model for many people today!

Rajinikanth was a celebrity even in his role as a conductor. His methods of handing bus tickets and whistling were well-known among visitors and other bus drivers. During this time, he appeared in a few Kannada theatre productions, saw a lot of movies, and tried to imitate Sivaji Ganesan, Rajkumar, and M.G Ramachandran.

He enrolled at Chennai’s Adyar Film Institute. During a performance at the Institute, Rajinikanth was noticed by popular movie director K.K. Balachander, who was so taken by him that he agreed to play a role in his script. Even though Rajinikanth was primarily cast in supporting and negative roles at the time, this was the beginning of his acting career.

He’s got his first break in the film Bhairavi, in which he played the lead for the first time. His acting ability was quickly recognized by the nation. Rajinikanth didn’t look back after that and went on to star in hundreds of hit films. Some of his most notable roles include Baasha (1995), Padayappa (1999), Arunachalam (1991), and Thalapathy (1991).

Rajinikanth has demonstrated that age is just a number and that it has no impact on a person’s commitment to greatness. When compared to his current work and recent films, his age is startling. He has always had the power to make hits like Shivaji – The Boss, Robot, and Kabali, even at the age of 68.

He was paid $8.6 million for the film Sivaji, making him Asia’s second-highest-paid actor after Jackie Chan. He has taught us that if you work hard enough and long enough, you can succeed in life.
