Ways To Keep Your Lungs Healthy

As much as we love to celebrate Diwali, let’s not forget that Diwali is linked with firecrackers exploding, which results in a great deal of smoke. Asthma sufferers may have chronic cough, congestion, feeling of tightness in the chest, and breathlessness as a result of the carbon and pollutants released by fireworks.

In times like this, here are some ways to keep your lungs healthy.

1. Avoid areas where individuals are blowing firecrackers since they generally leak dangerous substances.

2. If at all feasible, remain indoors with the air conditioner on to avoid feeling too claustrophobic.

3. Drink lots of water and to avoid hyperacidity

4. Indoor pollution can be reduced by avoiding the use of candles. Sustainable LED lights can be used because they do not emit particulates.

5. When going out, use a mouth guard. Consider wearing an anti-pollution mouth guard to keep fumes out of your lungs.

6. Keep a quick – relief inhaler with you if you have breathing problems or a chest infection.

7. Anyone who has a chronic cough, wheezing, or shortness of breath should seek medical help and prevent contact with other family and friends.

8. Consume a balanced diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables. This could help your physical health.

9. People who have respiratory symptoms should always have their emergency medications, nebulizer treatments, and other emergency aid on standby. Remember to take your prescribed medicines if any, on a regular basis.
