Pineapple is considered one of the best foods for weight loss since it is sweet, crisp, and slightly sour. The flavorful fruit adds a unique flavor to cuisine and is a favorite component in salads, cocktails, and desserts. Because the fruit contains bromelain, an enzyme that helps burn body fat, it is becoming more and more well-known as a weight reduction food. A cup of pineapple a day may aid in weight loss, but sticking to a diet of sole pineapple for several days can have a number of negative effects.

According to WebMD, a cup of fresh pineapple chunks contains 82 grams of calories, 0.89 grams of protein, and 0.20 grams of fat.

There is no shortage of fad diets, and the pineapple diet is one of them that has gained a lot of popularity recently. People who follow this plan for rapid weight loss consume only pineapple for two days each week, eating regularly on the other days, as the name implies. The diet was developed by a Danish psychologist named Sten Hegeler, who wrote the book Sexy Pineapple Diet with his wife and made promises of rapid weight loss and general well-being. In contrast, a lot of people now adhere to a modified version of this diet and consume pineapples for several days or weeks at a time.

In a recent Instagram post, nutritionist Lovneet Batra discusses the negative effects of consuming only pineapples for a few days.

– Because pineapple is so acidic, it could hurt your stomach, especially if that’s all you eat for the entire day, you’ll be incredibly hungry, agitated, and exhausted. Additionally, you can get sick or have diarrhea.

Because pineapple has less than one gram of protein and fat per cup and is deficient in many vitamins and minerals, you may experience side effects like drowsiness, fainting, headaches, hunger pangs, sleeplessness, weakness, and intense hunger.
