Here are 5 tips that can keep your teeth and gums healthy.

1) Flossing

One of the effective ways to keep your teeth and gums clean is to floss. Flossing facilitates proper dental health by lifting and removing plaque and food from between your teeth. Brushing eliminates plaque and food particles, but toothbrush bristles can’t reach deep enough between teeth to remove everything. Flossing, as a result, aids in keeping your mouth as clean as possible.

2) Brush twice a day

Another way to keep your teeth and gums clean is by brushing twice a day. Ensure to brush your teeth after every meal that you eat as this ensures to remove the food stuck in between your teeth and gums.

3) Regular dental cleanings

Symptoms can then be treated before they worsen if you visit dental clinics for regular dental cleanings. Tartar may only be removed by a professional cleaning that you may have missed while brushing or flossing.

4) Drink Water

Water remains the best drink for one’s overall health, along with oral health which helps in maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

5) Limit sugar and acidic food intake

Sugar eventually breaks down into acid in the mouth, which erodes your teeth’s enamel. Cavity formation is caused by these acids. Teeth enamel can be worn away by acidic fruits, drinks, and coffee. While you don’t have to completely avoid certain meals, it’s always a good idea to be cautious.
