Ice Cream Or Chocolate: Which Food Brings More Joy To A Person?

Ice cream and chocolate are our all-time favourite sweet treats. Since childhood, they have only given us feelings of joy and happiness and have continued to do so. Chocolate and ice cream set physical and emotional responses in many people and as a result, these foods are best offered to a person to deal with mood swings.

It is not ice cream or chocolate that improves your mood, instead it is your favourite food that does.

Ice cream contains proteins and fats which functions towards levelling our moods. The amino acids such as tryptophan that you consume while eating an ice cream raise the production of serotonin in your body. This hormone makes you feel calm and happy.

Researchers have discovered that eating ice cream for breakfast not only lifts a person’s mood but also makes them mentally alert. It stimulates the brain, makes you feel energised and boosts your immune system. It is also believed to prevent breast cancer.

Chocolate contains a variety of compounds that work towards producing happy-go chemicals in the brain. Like ice cream, chocolate has a small amount of amino acid, tryptophan that produces serotonin and as a result you feel relaxed and happy.

That is not it, eating chocolate lowers cholesterol levels and keeps your heart healthy. It also improves your memory power as you grow old and is effective for people with Alzheimer’s disease. It is believed that eating dark chocolate enhances brain functioning and makes you better at maths.
