People who had planned their weddings during the lockdown period had to cancel or reschedule it entirely. As a gathering of people is restricted under COVID norms, no festivals or occasions can be celebrated like before. Festivals in India are very dear and important for the people living here. Every festival no matter which religion celebrates it is celebrated with full joy and happiness while forgetting all the worries about the world until the Coronavirus hit us. In this lockdown which started in March, the occasion of Holi for Hindus, the occasion of Easter for Christians and Eid for Muslims took a damper in its celebration. These celebrations are a very important source of happiness in the lives of people in India. They mean more to us than just a celebration.

Recently some restrictions in some areas were lifted, after which people were able to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi lightly in some areas. However, no one celebrated the festival with full joy as the fear of coronavirus is hanging above our heads. Young couples who dreamt to have the wedding of their choice now have to either wait for this pandemic to be over or settle for a small celebration without large parties or gatherings. It makes almost everyone sad that no festivals can be celebrated properly. On the other hand, there is no progress in inventing a vaccine for COVID. That just puts our hope of getting to celebrate our happy festivals with joy to the ground.

But we as humans must embrace whatever life throws at us with all our strength. We must all stay indoors and only go out if necessary. Meanwhile, we can all celebrate another festival from our homes. It is called the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL is a festival which is common to all the religions and castes because cricket is our religion.
