Bertha von Suttner, a strong force in the international peace movement in Europe who was later given the Nobel Peace Prize, impacted his peace beliefs. Nobel mentioned peace as the fifth and final reward area in his will. The Norwegian Parliament elects a committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize.

According to Economic time’s reports, “For their struggle against the oppression of children and young people, and for the right of all children to education,” Malala Yousafzai earned the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 along with Kailash Satyarthi.
Nelson Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 “for their work for the peaceful termination of the apartheid regime, and for laying the foundations for a new Democratic South Africa”.
His Holiness was given the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 “for advocating peaceful solutions based on tolerance and mutual respect in order to preserve his people’s historical and cultural legacy.”
