Criticizing others can seem to be talking about someone else’s fault but it actually represents the inner us. When we are not happy with ourselves, when we are anxious we take it out by criticising others. No one is perfect, neither are we. We have no right to point out others’ flaws, especially, something that they can’t change like their body structure or skin colour. If you have the habit of criticising others stop it right away, here are some tips to help you.

· Think before you speak

If someone does something hurtful and you would want to criticize their behaviour that hurt you or something else they do in future. But before you open your mouth to criticize someone, think about the effects, think whether it is worth it. Your criticism can affect your relationship forever. Does criticise has more importance than the relationship? When you think these things before speaking you might not actually want to criticize.

· A separate individual from their actions

Many times we criticize the individual’s appearance or their personal life instead of their actions that were hurtful. To stop criticising you must separate the individual, their personal life and their actions. Someone’s actions can’t define who they are, their actions can be a reaction to a particular situation.

· Focus on positives

Every individual has flaws and imperfections but there are also nice things in every individual. Instead of pointing out their flaws, focus on the positives. Change your attitude into a positive one. Choose to look at a wider perspective then noticing only the flaws and wrongdoing.

· Give feedback rather than criticism

If you really didn’t like someone’s actions, tell them as feedback. Tell them what you didn’t like about them and where they can make changes. Don’t sit and criticize their work with people around. Go to them and talk in person. Healthy criticism is always accepted by people who are willing to change.
