Well, the answer is civil service exams. UPSC stands for Union public service commission. These exams allow you to become a civil servant officer.

This exam is conducted by India’s central agency. On successfully clearing this exam you can be recruited as a civil service cadet, defense service cadet for central government of India. This examination started in the year 1922. The eligibility of this exam is that the candidate should be a citizen of India. You should have the education qualification of a degree from a central, state university, a qualification recognized by the government of India. The candidate must be in an age group of 21 to 32 years, for the OBC category the age limit is 35, and that for ST is 37. A candidate can give 4 attempts to clear the exam.

For the exam you have two stages, stage 1 that is a preliminary round, stage 2 is the main elimination round and the final interview. The exams for clearing are very tough and test the mental toughness of an aspirant.

Civil service officers play a very crucial role in our country. From making roads to opening schools everything is done under the guidance of a civil servant. It is a very respected job with very good pay along with various benefits and allowances. Every year approx 10 lakh students register for UPSC and approx ten thousand clear.
