4. Maternity Leave

Childbirth is a miracle, but working mothers who are expecting a child may struggle to combine job and health. To make their lives easier, most Indian organizations provide maternity leaves, the type of leave accessible to female employees who are pregnant and expecting a child soon. Maternity leaves are also employed in cases of miscarriage or abortion, but the duration of these leaves is only 6. While the length of maternity leave varies per organization, paid maternity leave is typically 10-30 weeks.

5. Paternity leaves

This form of leave is available to male employees who are about to become parents. Paternity leave is taken before or immediately after the baby is born. Despite the fact that all respectable organizations offer paternity leaves, it is still not a frequent sort of leave in private Indian companies. Because business laws regarding paternity leaves vary by organization, it is usually a good idea to consult with HR for specifics.

6. Sabbatical Leave

Sabbatical leave is a sort of leave offered by firms to their employees in order for them to upskill and get more knowledge in their area so that they can contribute more to their organization in the future. A sabbatical can be requested by an employee for educational development, a family/health crisis, or to take a career break. Because this form of vacation is not accepted instantly, it must be planned far in advance. A sabbatical is a long-term unpaid leave of absence.

7. Bereavement leave

Companies provide bereavement leave to employees in the event of a death in the family. This form of leave is paid for by the firm, and while there are no rules requiring organizations to grant bereavement leaves, most companies do so out of sympathy. While bereavement leaves are a new idea in India, they are one of the most significant sorts of leaves for an employee.

8. Marriage leave

Employees take this form of leave when they or a member of their family marries. It is an official document that allows employees to request time off from work to be married or attend the wedding of a close friend or relative. This, too, must be prepared in a proper manner and tone, just like any other leave application.
