The TET 2021 exam is held to verify applicants’ qualification for employment as teaching staff in both federal and state government institutions. State governments or authorities administer the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Private schools in the state will be required to hire only those applicants who have passed the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET).

The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a qualification exam used to narrow down applicants for teaching positions. The TET exams are held at both the state and national levels, and are established on the National Council for Teacher Education’s recommendations (NCTE). The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) administers the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) at the state level, and multiple states administer. The pass rate for general category candidates is 60% (90 points), whereas it is 55% for various restricted category candidates (83 marks).

TET was launched in 2013 by the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (MSCERT), and it became compulsory for aspirant and in-service teachers in the state’s metropolitan, remote, and commercial aided schools where teachers’ wages are provided by the state authority.

To fulfil the overall goals, the TET was declared a mandatory requirement for teacher’s interview for private schools because

1. They wanted to create a nationwide norm and standard for teacher performance and recruiting.

2. They wanted to motivate teacher education institutes and their students to enhance their productivity even more.

3. They wanted to make the government’s emphasis on teacher performance.
