Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is an Indian conglomerate with its headquarters in Mumbai. Reliance has businesses in vitality, petrochemicals, materials, common assets, retail, and broadcast communications, among others. Reliance is one of India’s most well-known companies. Reliance Industries became the first Indian business to reach a current value of $100 billion on October 18, 2007. As of 2019, the company is ranked 106th on the Fortune Global 500 list of the world’s most powerful corporations.

The company was founded in the 1960s by Dhirubhai Ambani and Champaklal Damani as Reliance Commercial. Reliance Industries’ CEO is Mukesh Ambani. Reliance Textiles Engineers Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in Maharashtra in 1966. The company’s name was changed from Reliance Textiles Industries Ltd. to Reliance Industries Limited in 1985. The company entered the telecom market through a joint venture in 1995/96. Reliance Industries Limited and Reliance Petroleum Ltd. became India’s two largest corporations in 2001. Reliance Petroleum and Reliance Industries merged in 2001–02. By the end of 2008, Reliance Retail had around 600 outlets spread across 57 Indian cities.

Mr. Mukesh Ambani, the founder of Reliance Industries, has long held the Mumbai Indians franchise, and the acquisition of a cricket team has been essential in putting the Reliance brand into the forefront. Reliance Industries is putting a lot of effort into marketing and promoting its brand.
Reliance Jio presently has over 400 million members and is India’s largest mobile telecom carrier by adjusted gross revenue (AGR).

In Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Reliance has also constructed a world-class conference centre, musical theatre theatre, shopping mall, office area, and clubhouse.
