Swimming

Water aerobics and swimming may be the best exercises for pregnant women. Why? Because you weigh less in the water than on land, you’ll feel more agile and lighter. A swim can also assist with nausea, sciatic discomfort, and swollen ankles. It’s also easy on your loosening joints and ligaments because the baby is floating beside you. Simply be cautious when walking on slick pool decks, and rather than plunging or jumping into the water, step or slide into it. Your growing baby cannot handle the bubbles that erupt inside the body when you rapidly change elevations under the pressure of the water.

Walking

Walking is the easiest activity to integrate into your busy schedule when pregnant… It’s also a workout you can do all the way up until your due date. You also don’t need any special equipment or a gym membership to take part; all you need are a good pair of sneakers.

Running

Would you like to go a little faster? With a doctor’s approval, experienced runners can stay on track during pregnancy. Always stay on flat ground (or a treadmill) and don’t overdo it. During pregnancy, loose ligaments and joints make jogging more difficult on your knees and make you more prone to injury.

Ellipticals, stair climbers, treadmills, and rowing machines

During pregnancy, ellipticals, stair climbers, treadmills, and rowing machines are all good options. Set the speed, incline, and tension to a comfortable level for you. Keep in mind that as your pregnancy advances, resistance may become more difficult to overcome (or not; listen to your body). To avoid stumbling on stair climbers and treadmills, pay greater attention to where you step.
