Acne is a skin issue that can make a few sorts of curvy or bumpy structure on the outside of the skin. It can occur anywhere in the body but commonly is seen on face, neck and back. It most commonly triggers from hormonal changes in our body, mostly during puberty. Commonly it goes away after we grow up to being an adult and pass through the puberty stage. But for some people when some acne disappears, more seem to arise. While it does not severely affect your body, it does cause lots of emotional stress and some pimples even hurt a lot. Being an effect of hormonal change, there is no particular solution to it, but a healthy diet can surely help reduce them: –

  • Kale

Kale or also known as leaf cabbage outshines the cabbage family as it is the most nourished and rich in nutrients. It has antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that provide help in reducing hyperpigmentation.

  • Lemon

Of the citric family, lemon is rich in vitamin C which is vital for skin health. It works as a natural astringent that helps in binding the facial skin together and avoid sagging.

  • Berries

Berries like strawberries, cherries, blueberries or raspberries are good a source of antioxidants and Vitamin C. eating berries help in getting rid of black spots left behind by acne.

  • Papaya

Papain, an enzyme found in this fruit is capable of hydrating the skin, exfoliating dead skin cells and unclog pores. The vitamins and minerals inside this fruit can also get rid of wrinkles and make your skin stretchy.

  • Pumpkin

This food item is loaded with zinc and hydroxy acids. It helps in maintaining the skins pH balance and make your skin softer. The zinc helps in regulating the oil in on our skin surface.

  • Sweet potatoes

A derivative of Vitamin A called retinol is found in sweet potatoes. This helps in fighting off acne and improving the skin tone. This vitamin also helps in against discolouration and inflammation.

Eating these foods constantly doesn’t guarantee freedom from acne. It sure gives you a fighting chance against them but no one can guarantee freedom from acne. Although pimples don’t affect your health, it sure makes you feel depressed and lowers your self-esteem. The best way to deal with acne is to not let it come in the way of your pillars of confidence and self-esteem. How you look doesn’t matter and to those who ridicule you for that, don’t deserve you!
