Do you often get aggravated? Although anger is a normal and healthy emotion, it can cause troubles in your life.

Here are some of the tips to help you control your aggravation.

1. Take a timeout

Get away from the situation when you feel your temper rising. Work towards calming yourself by counting to 10 which would stop you from reacting in an irrational manner.

2. Do not carry your anger around

When people get frustrated with something, they tend to carry their anger around them even if the actual reason has passed. It is better to take some time to pass the anger so that the rest of the day is not clouded by anger.

3. Practice relaxation techniques

Visualise yourself in a calm and happy place when you feel aggravated. Take deep breaths as you visualise yourself in your happy place.

Chant a calming phrase and repeat it till your anger cools down.

4. Talk a walk

When you walk, your body releases endorphins and it works in relieving stress. Go for a walk when a certain situation aggravates you. Walking will help you clear your mind and you’d be able to gain a new and better perspective.

5. Think of a funny memory

It is possible to get angry after a long stressful day. You can recall a funny memory with a friend or family member when you feel your anger starting to bubble up. Tell yourself that it is temporary and it won’t matter after some time.
